I have been making work in a variety of mediums since high school and showing in group and individual exhibitions across the country since 1983.
As a founder member of Facetia Arts Collective in 1990 I helped stage a range of community installations raising awareness of local and national issues using visual and performance art.
I helped set up the Dunedin Arts and Cultural Enterprise Trust which created the Octagon Market and performance schedule.
From 1995 to 2000 I ran the arts programme in Dunedin Prison and arranged for inmates to work on community art projects and fundraise for victim support with exhibitions of their work. I also initiated an artist in residence programme involving local artists.
Currently I am involved in the incorporation of the Bluff Enterprise Arts Trust and have been part of the recent Fringe Festival arts events including the Bluff Art Attack and now Mahi Toi Bluff Arts.
As well as my own work for show or on commission, I enjoy collaborative art projects and using art interventions as a therapeutic medium. I believe art is a powerful and liberating way to communicate across all sectors of society and inspire change.
