Jan Ryan discovered her love for painting after retiring, teaching herself through experimentation and a desire to create in her own unique way. A lifelong ‘Bluffy’, Jan draws inspiration from her deep connection to the area. She is a descendant of James Spencer, one of Bluff’s founders, and Mere Te Kauri, a lineage that ties her work to the rich history of the region. Working with oil, acrylic, and watercolor, Jan explores texture and technique to bring depth to her artwork. Jan also has a passion for gardening.
